Our company has exciting news to share with all of you! Our CEO, Joy E. Seitz, and the rest of our company have received The National Women’s Business Enterprise Certification as of August 2024. There are millions of women-owned businesses in the U.S. but there is still significant disparity between these businesses and others. WBE is helping to bridge that gap by providing these certifications and additional resources to businesses like ours.

Why A WBE Certification Matters

Women-Business Enterprise (WBE) Certification is meant for companies that are 51% owned and operated by one or more women. Receiving this certificate gives us access to state, local, and municipal government spending. WBE helps these businesses to network with others in their industry and take part in education and mentoring programs to improve our business.

Those working in our company will have the opportunity to see other women-owned and operated businesses, learn from one another, and grow to new heights in our respective fields.

Joy E. Seitz and the rest of the American Solar And Roofing family are overjoyed to have obtained this certification and that our business meets their standards.

“Receiving this certification means everything to me. As a woman-owned business, we’re committed to leading by example, creating opportunities for the next wave of female entrepreneurs. This achievement will be worn as a badge of honor as it opens new doors for us to grow and continue serving our community while affecting revolutionary change. This opens new doors for us to grow and continue serving our community while affecting revolutionary change” Seitz said.

While we know being a women-owned business isn’t a walk in the park, we are proud to be a beacon of hope for future generations. Through dedication and hard work, we have seen the benefits of being a women-owned small business.

Eligibility To Recieve The National Women’s Business Enterprise Certification

According to the WBENC website, these are the requirements for receiving this award.

  • The majority of the company ownership is by one or more women (51%)
  • The business demonstrates proof of female management and control of the business
  • Unrestricted female control of business legal documents and day-to-day operation
  • A woman holds the highest title in the company
  • The female title holders have proof of contribution of capital or industry expertise
  • Status of U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident for the woman owner(s) constituting majority ownership.

Businesses That Should Apply

Since our business provides a product and service for corporations, retail, or government agencies, we can reap the benefits of certification and networking. Other businesses that deliver on large contracts, who want to break further into the retail or government space, and those who are proud of their monetary accomplishments as a women ran business should apply. While WBE supports all entrepreneurial women, not all businesses will be the right fit for this certification.

American Solar And Roofing hopes that this certification helps you build trust with our team. Because we have access to more services, mentoring, and educational programs, we will use all at our fingertips to become a better business. We want to continue to serve you in the best way possible and we believe that this opportunity is the best way to do so.
