Outside Sales Advisor

The Outside Sales Advisor (OSA) will actively pursue the sales objectives of American Solar & Roofing (“AS&R”) by focusing on the sale of residential energy and roofing systems to prospective clients. The position may require on-site roof inspections, proposal development, proposal presentation, follow-up communications, contract processing and accurate record keeping. The OSA will interface with AS&R’s corporate units (engineering, accounting, construction, operations and customer service) when needed to facilitate the sales process or to remedy customer concerns.
Responsibilities
- Perform multiple home site visits per day, as scheduled by AS&R’s Inside Sales Team.
- Present roof inspection findings and proposals to prospective clients after Inspector completes visit.
- Create repair and/or re-roof proposals for prospective clients using Inspector’s data.
- Develop quotes, system designs, production estimates and financial models for prospective customers.
- Participate in customer HOA coordination, as needed.
- Follow-up with quoted prospects per AS&R’s Service Level Agreement.
- Facilitate prospective client’s application process with AS&R’s financing partner, as needed.
- Close new contracts and provide executed contract documents to supervisor for review and approval.
- Maintain thorough records of all interactions with prospective clients within AS&R’s Customer Resource Management (CRM) software.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of a High School diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Past sales experience, preferably technical sales and/or Home Improvement Sales.
- Other: Candidate must have a valid Arizona driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Willing to learn, employ and abide by AS&R’s sales techniques.
- Willing to work in close coordination with Sales and Marketing Team.
- Cannot have a sense of entitlement due to education or past experience.
- Must be competitive and persistent to the extent of achieving performance goals and the desire to get better at his/her role, but not competitive at the expense of AS&R.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent reading comprehension skills are required.
- Strong computer skills are required, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Excellent organizational skills along with the ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and the ability to work within time constraints are required.
- Must be able to work effectively, patiently and pleasantly with other staff, customers and the general public.
- A well spoken, confident, articulate and genuine personality that will represent AS&R professionally and proudly is required.
- Must be punctual and willing to notify customer when running late for appointments.
- Must be enthusiastic and positive with prospective and current customers.
Physical Qualifications
- Long stretches of time sitting down and using a computer.
- Extended periods of time reading a computer screen.
- Repetitive motion for data entry (typing/clicking).
- Climbing up and down stairs
- Visits to job sites will require the ability to climb a ladder, maneuver around a roof, as well as periods of standing and walking around.
- Must be able to lift 40-60lbs including a ladder for site visits
