American Solar & Roofing is the original residential solar and roofing company in Arizona, and we are thriving and growing! We need a Solar Project Manager to help us manage our solar install projects. The Solar Superintendent is primarily charged with ensuring a positive customer experience. This is achieved through high levels of customer communication during the planning phase and delivery of quality product held to the highest industry standards. This role is the primary point of contact for our customers throughout the building phase of their project. The Solar Superintendent will manage the production schedule and will work closely with the crew consisting of a field superintendent, crew lead and installers. The Solar Superintendent will be expected to review contracts prior to the start of work, order all materials based on designs and blueprints, run the production schedule, manage and support install crews, and lead both pre-con and post-con site inspections.


  • Client Communication : Communicate with clients regarding scheduling of their project construction from beginning to end. Weekly updates are required to maintain the highest levels of customer service. Anticipate customer issues and report them to the Director of Construction prior to serious problems occurring.
  • Cost Control : Know what the materials and labor costs to perform the work will amount to. In the event that intimate knowledge and accurate estimates are unclear, seek direction prior to proceeding.
  • Scheduling Construction : All projects assigned to the Superintendent should be scheduled in the AS&R database. Keep the customer database updated at all times to ensure accuracy and facilitate support work from other departments. Coordinate any roofing work with Roofing Superintendent. Manage relationships with sub-contractors, AHJ’s and utilities. Ensure manpower is utilized efficiently and production goals are attained.
  • Performance Control : Know how the system will perform once installed. Review and upload FPA, as-built photos, and QA checklist.
  • Pre-Construction : Client Meetings and site visits are to be performed as soon as practicably possible.
  • Job Completion : Upon completion of a job, coordinate city inspection. Ensure quality check occurs during and after construction. Ensure that all construction tasks are performed per manufacturer’s installation guidelines or AS&R construction procedures. Direct individuals or crew that performed original work to perform any rework required to meet QC standards. Complete QC part of job report. Review builds vs. man hours and report overages to Director of Construction. Perform PTO/Commissioning site visit with Customer.

Qualifications Needed:

– Minimum of 2 years experience leading solar construction crews is required

– Customer Management experience is required

– Strong code knowledge is required, with particular attentions to the NEC, IRC, IFC, the TRI, and the roofing codes

– NABCEP Certification is required. If candidate is not currently NABCEP certified, they must agree to go through necessary classes and certification requirements to become NABCEP certified within 6 months of offer acceptance.

– A four-year degree is preferred
