American Solar & Roofing is the original solar contractor in Arizona, 22 years old, and we feel like we just started. We are driven to lead the industry in high caliber, residential solar electric and roofing installations, but we are not your typical solar company, and this is not your typical Solar Sales job.

We are looking for a high performing Director of Sales to join our leadership council. The successful candidate will help establish and then meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You will be responsible for participating as a sales consultant to learn the process while building a team of Inside and Outside Sales consultants.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Recruit, hire and develop a highly skilled, professional sales organization that is process driven and committed to success
- Provide ongoing coaching, advice, support, motivation, or information to assist the team in meeting their sales/marketing objectives and holds them accountable to performance standards and KPIs for role
- Administer and engage in an ongoing personal development program for all sales/marketing people
- Meet KPIs as a sales consultant to learn the role and sales process while building the team
- Plan, organize, and accurately forecast weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual sales and activity targets, keeping current on financial data & adjusting action plan accordingly to achieve sales goals
- Constructively handle, or supervise the handling of, all customer complaints related to the sales process
- Support your salespeople in selling by stimulating activity and leading by example by conducting regular sales meetings with clients and assisting in sales process wherever needed
- Participate in creation of lead opportunities (web, phone & email) to achieve weekly, monthly & quarterly activity targets, keeping current on financial data & adjusting action plan accordingly to assist Sales team in achieving sales goals
- Collaborate with other executives to make high-level decisions regarding the budget and direction of the company
- Set budgets for marketing department and oversee marketing strategies to promote the company’s services & brand
- Identify and communicate potential growth opportunities to CEO & Integrator
- Remain focused on on-going personal development goals for improving own sales skills, managerial skills, business skills and product knowledge
- Help with special projects as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge of outside sales and closing tactics in a B2C environment
- Proven leadership and ability to lead a Sales & marketing team and drive results through others
- Knowledge of/ability to supervise the development of different branding techniques & marketing campaigns
- Well spoken, confident, personable, articulate, and enthusiastic with a genuine personality that will represent American Solar & Roofing professionally and proudly
- Able to inspire a team by communicating shared goals and vision
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (other languages a bonus)
- Able to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and work independently within time constraints.
- Able to work effectively, positively, and cooperatively with other staff, customers, and the public
- Internally motivated, highly organized, thorough, conscientious, with a strong desire to win
- Utilize a growth mindset to accept and deliver constructive feedback surrounding positive accountability for self and others
Qualifications – Required:
- Education: B.A/B.S degree or higher in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 5+ years in Sales Management with demonstrated proficiency in achieving sales objectives and performance goals
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Experience with SalesForce or similar CRM
- Must have a valid driver’s license and pass drug test
Physical Qualifications:
- Long stretches of time sitting using a computer
- Extended periods of time reading a computer screen
- Repetitive motion for data entry (typing/clicking)
- Ability to sit, stand and climb stairs for a reasonable amount of time
- Ability to drive to various locations within the state of Arizona for customer meetings
- Ability to travel out of town on work-related business (less than 10% of time)
- Ability to perform home evaluations during site visits including climbing a ladder to access the roof and remaining outdoors for up to 30 minutes (less than 5% of time)
Compensation:
- Base + commission
